The difference between Andalusian and P.R.E.

Fugitivo XII will be available only for breeding to P.R.E. mares . For this reason we find it very important to put emphasis in the difference between an "Andalusian" horse and a "P.R.E." horse.
The correct name of the breed is P.R.E. (Pura Raza Española) and the only register and stud book is located in Spain and is called the "Fondo de Explotación de los Servicios de Cría Caballar y Remonta (FESCCR)".
The Andalusian horse or "Caballo Andaluz" has been the popular name to use in reference to the P.R.E. horses, because their roots are in the Spanish region called Andalucia.
Please don't be mistaken, when you use the term "Andalusian", it  is a generic term commonly used all over the World, but is not the approved name of the breed.

Breeding Protocols will be discussed by phone

  1. Fugitivo XII is registered with the Fondo de Explotación de los Servicios de Cría Caballar y Remonta (FESCCR) as a P.R.E. Stallion and all foals may be registered as pure P.R.E. depending on the mare.
  2. To receive a discount the non-refundable booking fee of $400 must be paid by 1/1/08 and signed contract received.
  3. First breeding costs and booking fees included in above.

"Every author has always given preference to Spanish horses, believing them to be the best for dressage due to their agility, spring and cadence. They believe them to be the best for ostentation due to their elegance, distinction and nobility."
